Ollerton_Resident's Forum

This project began with an investigation of the site by use of a measuring device which recorded lighting levels around the site. I began to look at the connection between light, mood and a sense of place and recorded my observations on a jouney through Ollerton. These observations along with an accumulation of knowledge about the reisdents and thier activities lead to the development of a residents forum

The proposal is for a series of meeting places across Ollerton which relate to the programme of events in the Roundabout newsletter.  The relative time period of the event will determine the period of time for which the architecture stays visible.  After the event has finished the architecture will fold back into the ground and become flat, similar to the way the measuring device did.  There is a notice board at each of the locations which is an integral part of the architecture as it acts as the support for the folding structure as well as being advertisement for the group using that space and a way of them personalising their premises.

It was important to me that the spaces retainained the existing mood of the place in which they were situation and that this mood bled into the interior of the pavillions influencing and to some extent determining the activities which happen in each place.
